Interviewed by Steve Harmon

Harmon: The Great Dave and Ken.. how many people have fooled a boss or a tv anchor with Kens dead on Tom Brokaw ...lets update everybody on some of our favorite people shall we?

Lets re-visit and refresh us all on how you found each other and came together on air and update your team!

Dave: I had been in and out of the market a few times when I came back from New York in 1992.  The guy that I was paired up with didn't work out, so Ken filled in (he was... and still is the PD) and became the "guy."  Molly joined us 10 years ago as an intern when she was helping with our Christmas Wish program ...she really clicked with us.. so the rest is history.

Harmon: You have switched stations, formats, but stayed right there...HOW!?!

Dave: I think the three of us (Dave, Ken and Molly) truly love our market... and, to be real honest, we are treated pretty well here (at the station and around town). We have had a few things come up over the years... but it would be really tough leave this very good situation.

Harmon: How long in your market?.

Dave: I was here in the early 80's... left (Texas)... came back...then left again (Colorado, North Dakota, New York)... then came back in 1992. Ken has been here since 1984! Molly started here in 1998.

Harmon: Coolest thing about your city?

Dave: We LOVE the four seasons. Really hot summers... cold snowy winters (that can last a bit too long)... beautiful Falls (my favorite). The city really gets behind some cool events. We have the largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament in the world here every summer (Hoopfest, 6300 TEAMS!)... we also have the largest timed road run (Bloomsday) where 60,000 people do a 12k together. Great, cheap golf... and of course, GONZAGA BASKETBALL!

Harmon: Radio star in your city you loved growing up listening to?

Dave: For me it was "Dancing Danny Wright" in Portland in the late 70's. Craig Walker was another Portland radio great in the 70's, 80's and 90's.

Harmon: What time do you get to the studio? How much prep happens before you even leave the house?

Dave: Ken has been beating me into the station over the past few years. He's in around 5... I'm 5:15... Molly is 6:10 (just kidding!)... 5:30.

Harmon: Give an example of one of the many days you "owned one of your markets".

Dave: I few years ago I used to do a "Tom Brokaw" impression and we would call any and EVERY celebrity we could. We've had former President's, first lady's,

Oprah, Leno, Letterman, Regis... and tons of others. I had to fake them out to get them on our air because normally they wouldn't talk to market #92.

Harmon: What's your biggest challenge?

Dave: Other than weight???

Probably staying focused during the show. Ken and Molly tease me about "not listening to the show." Also... staying connected with everyone in the business. I used to be so much better about that... and I feel terrible about not staying in touch with people.

Harmon: Do you eat during the show?  How do you try to stay in shape? Do you try?

Dave: YES... Molly and I do. Ken's pretty good. I love fast food and if I don't have something to eat every few hours ... there are problems.

Harmon: At ten o'clock or whenever you get off, how do you know it was a "good" show?

Dave: If we are still laughing and joking about a segment long after the show is over. We have the studio to do promos and sometimes we don't get to those until 10:30 or so.

Harmon: "The best BitBoard bit we ever tried was....."

Dave: Tons of Jeff and Jer stuff... Lots of Dwyer and Michaels phoners ... But Kraddick did a bit called the "Mystery Song" and it was big for us. I never in a million years thought that thing could work so well... so long.

Harmon: When the room's tense how do you break the tension?

Dave: Because there are four of us (including Spencer, producer), someone will usually catch a problem before it can get worse. Our master plan is that the studio is the "fun and happy" room... no troubles are brought in. If it's a negative or an issue... we'll deal with it AFTER the show.

Harmon: When the room's tense how do you break the tension?

Dave: Turn on Univision and look at the hot weather chick... we also have certain drops from phone calls that just make us all laugh.

Harmon: How do you like this years re-design of Philips Daily Dose?

Dave: I don't like it.. ... ... ... I LOVE IT! Truly... Bitboard continues to get better and better and more useful for all of us. Great stuff.

<<Thanks Dave!  -Philip>>

Harmon: "I wouldn't miss BFD-Fort Lauderdale in '09 because..."

Dave: I love seeing everyone and re-connecting. I'm one of those people that believes in energy of good, nice people... and I think just being all together for that weekend help you professionally and personally... I know it does me. Thank you for including us in your updates. See you in Florida, Molly says see you and Paulie in the hot tub..what is that all about?
